A five-year-old child complained of severe ear pain and was sure that something was inside it; the doctor examined it and cried out in fright.

That morning, the house filled with screams — the usually calm and cheerful five-year-old was screaming so loudly that the parents rushed into the room in terror. He was sitting on the bed, his head buried in his hands, crying while pressing his palm against the side of his head.

“Mom, someone is inside!” he sobbed. “It’s moving in my ear!”

The mother tried to calm her son, thinking he might just be imagining things. But the child wouldn’t stop crying and kept insisting that something was moving in his ear. The father, turning pale, didn’t hesitate — he put the child in the car, and they rushed to the nearest hospital.

At the emergency room, the doctor initially tried to remain calm. X-rays were taken — nothing suspicious was found. The doctor even considered that the child simply didn’t want to go to kindergarten and was pretending to be in pain. But the child, trembling with fear, pleaded:

“Please, doctor, take it out! It’s moving…”

The doctor took a flashlight, gently tilted the child’s head, and looked into his ear. Her face instantly turned pale. She stepped back and let out a scream — a mix of shock and horror.

Something was moving inside the ear canal: small white larvae were wriggling, clinging to the walls of the skin.

The parents stood there in shock, unable to believe their eyes. An ENT specialist was immediately called, who carefully removed several larvae under a microscope and then flushed the ear with a special solution.

It turned out that during the summer, the child had fallen asleep on the veranda, and during the night a fly had been buzzing around him. The insect had laid its eggs in the ear canal, where the warmth and humidity created the perfect environment for them to hatch.

After the procedure, the child recovered quickly, but the mother remained shaken for a long time — haunted by the thought that she hadn’t believed her son at first.

Since then, whenever the child complains, the mother no longer argues or dismisses it. She now knows that even the most unbelievable things can be true.
